ok... well i took some peoples advice on me having a 8 bolt crank via having the X as my 8th digit in the vin or whatever.... so i have the 8 bolt fidanza flywheel... im at the ford dealer helping the guy put it in cause i had nothing better to do and we find out my car has a 6 bolt crank...... what do i have that i can do???

Try to sell it to someone and buy a new flywheel

I will when I get my 5.4 up and running. I have some heavy a$$ one but I'm not sure I want to use that but that doesn't help you much now

hate to say it unless you have a block w/ cobra crank on the side you gotta get a new f/w

i did read a post about some girl w/ a 8 bolt crank gt but i was skeptical as it was the first id heard of it. i always labored under the understanding stock gts had 6 bolt w/ cobra 8 bolt

sorry to hear of your problems hope you can sell it to someone w/out too big a hickey

or if you have a good rep w/ the shop you bought it from and they also have a good rep w/ the supplier they maybe be able to return it if its unused, undamaged and Not custom machined.

Im pretty sure Pre-01 GTs and Cobras had 8 bolts and mid 01-04 had 6 bolts. depends on the block you have windsor or romeo...i think when the transmission changed so did the block.

yea...i wasn't being too clear b/c he has an 02...also i forgot what years/models had what other than 02+ cobras 8 bolt and 02+gts 6 bolt. not to mention i didnt want to look it up [:@]

but that girl w/ the 8 bolt stock gt crank did have a 02+ if i remember correctly.

Yea who knows with Ford...i dont doubt it, although im sure it was a one in a million type thing

well I know 96-98 gt all have 6 bolt. All cobras have 8 bolt.
