So we finally got the wifes 96 cobra out of the shop, head gaskets replaced and its running waay cool now (also had the wrong thermostat in there, it was 1/2 too short which was causing the overheating). It runs ok now, but on the freeway it feels like something is holding it back, like when you turn on the AC, that drag on the engine. It happens quite often. Everything is oem, I have not changed a thing except plugs. Should I change the wires (Car has 57k miles on it), and if so..what brand? How about the coils? Anything else I should replace?

Also, the shop was supposed to change my lifters while the engine was out but forgot. I have one that is real noisy at startup then quiets down after 30 seconds. I ran a quart of ATF in it this oil change and its not helping. Last oil change I ran 15w/40 Quaker State with 1 quart of Slick 50. Nothing seems to help...and its another 15hr shop rate to change those lifters! The DOHC has to come out again. AAARRGGGHHHHH!!!!!
