I've heard a couple things about ram air.</P>

1) They are only good @ high speed</P>

2) On newer models they are not recammended (especially if you plan on lowering ur car), because being under the car, they will ingest a lot more dirt, &amp; road grime than air; therefore not really providing much unless you are at the strip.</P>

3) Try maybe 15hp. 80hp...only w/a blower</P>

4) Read on the Shaker hood, cuz I've read some people complaining about it's functionability.</P><edited><editID>GSXRIntensity</editID><editDate>37866.1272685185</editDate></edited>

I have made a ram air for my 2001GT using 4 in. aluminum flex duct from my local hardware store. I cut out the air intake silencer so the 4in. duct would make a nice fit to the filter housing. I wouldnt say 80RWHP, but you can definitely feel the difference. Maybe 12-16 hp gain especialy noticabe in the upper RPM range. In my opinion, its better than a Cold Air Intake and a whole lot cheaper.

i would say its better if you can get a screen or something at the back to keep s**t out. also...they look sweet, much better than a cai. basically, if you want to, you should. its your car. all these guys here seem to thinkdo ittheir way or its a stupid idea. lets try and be a little more tolerable of ideas.

ram air is nore or less a better looking CAI. Not much more, not much less. Of course the better looking part is all based on opinion.</P>

I would not get ram air, therefore you should not either. If you do it is sooooo stupid. C'mon guys, let's not get tolerable of ideas here.</P>

By the way, that was a joke</P>
