Default '04 intake manifold on '96 GT

I'm replacing the intake manifold on my '96 GT. Damn thing cracked and caused major problems. I got a manifold off of an '04 GT for $150. That's a great deal, seeing that Ford charges $600 for that part, and junk yards charge $200 used (they are very hard to find at junk yards). This one is a take off part, and has no miles on it from what I can tell. I read that I may have to make some modifications to make this manifold fit on my '96. Is this true? If so, what will I need to do? Or will it fit right on. Also, the guy that I bought it from said it would give me a good five extra horse power. Is this true?
