Default RE: How old can I buy a gt?

Go with a 99 Mustang GT. Anything under 100K should be fine. The 4.6L engines are built like beasts. They will last at least 200K if they are taken care of. Do not go with an automatic. Ford automatics are aweful. They simply can't handle the power of the 4.6L. I have seen people tear through at least two or three of them within 10,000 miles. The 99 mustang has much more power than the previous Mustang GTs. Also, it is newer than the other ones, so the other things, like the air conditioner and such, will be in better condition.
