yeah i really am starting to agree with you guys. i know for sure my gt is faster! his car is completly stock mine has quite a few add ons. by the way my 20"s have 35 series tires on em which are extremely low sidewall tires. i think it looks smokin!! i am gonna lower it 1.5 in all around. i will try and get a pic or 2 on here of it i just am kinda new at this and might need some coaching on how to do it. thanks again guys! lata!

Bad idea

too bad you guys dont know what your talking about. the saleen is the best car you could buy. i had 2 (only one now) and they are worth every penny. nobody will ever look at your plain gt but you will get a 1000 looks in a saleen.

get the saleen. you become part of the club and get invited to parties and special events by saleen dealers in your state. you will also get a brake in your insurance because it started out as a 6 cyl. so thats what will reflect on your insurance. it will outhandle your gt. taking curves fast is alot more fun than going straight fast. any idiot in a gt can drive in a straight line but it wont compare to being able to take a sharp off camber turn at 90 mph and have the car planted. i used to race my saleen till i got my cobra

There isn't a road track made where a NPI Salleen will keep up with a PI GT.

The car will be a dog. It dammed sure isn't worth the price of a 02 GT with the same miles PLUS 5 grand!!

Not to mention its a vert! Pig heavy and a weak frame is not what I want on a circut track!

EDIT: Honestly though, you are paying for the NAME when you buy a salleen/roush etc. There is NOTHING done to the car you could not do for cheaper (and better) than what it comes with. You can buy complete pacakages for mustang GTs that replace virtually every suspension piece on it for 3-4K. Some of the griggs or other racing kits would simply mop the floor with a salleen.

Like I said eariler, if you really want a salleen just do a clone and spend thousands less.

I know this doesn't seem to apply to you, but most of us have a limted amount of funds to work with on our toys. Trading a 02 GT with 30,xxx miles for a 98 salleen with 30XXX miles is not a smart move,.

So basically what you are saying is he should take a modified GT (he said it even had "quite a few" mods") and trade it in plus pay FIVE GRAND on a SLOWER NPI (yuck) car that is worth less money than his is currently, just so he can have a salleen and hopefully it will hold its 8-9K value?

No dude. If it was a PI car I would have to think about it, being it IS a salleen, but its not important enough to make up for that ****ty NPI motor and paying 5K plus your paid off car.
