Wondering how long ur stock clutch lasts or has lasted on ur mustang gt's. Mines has about 45k on it and its about to go. I do downshift alot but wondering if this is normal time to be changing clutch? Input would be greatly appreciated.

It all depends on how you drive. You really dont need to downshift all the time. That puts alot more wear on your clutch. Your brakes may wear a little faster but its easier and cheaper to do brakes vs. a clutch.

clutch SHOULD last 100k or so.... under ideal conditions.

45k is a bit early but if it was in a lot of stop and go and harsh accel or decel... that'll do it....

I still have the stock clutch.

50k miles and about 300 passes on the track

It doesn't slip at all.

44,000 on mine and no problems

mine is at 104000 and it gets driven at the track and pretty tough driving most of the time. i am getting ready to change over to a stage 2

the one on my 96 was stock and it lasted about 100k and i changed it cause it was releasing high so it still had a little left to go

for those of us who are NOT having problems how many do not down shift that often? i know i dont downshift as much as possible.

I replaced the clutch in my 97 around 130k or so. That included downshifting and all.
