Tranny problems, please help
I was at the strip tonight and ran a best of 14.5 with a 2.31 60 and i trapped at 97.3 mph, but neways on the way home i had to shove my shifter into overdrive,(2003 gt 5spd). I was told that it was a bent shifting fork by my friend, if so where can i find a rebuild kit and new parts? Could it be the shifter. All my other gears except reverse are fine. Reverse is kinda hard to get into now. How much am i going to have to spend to fix this? thanks for the help!

RE: Tranny problems, please help
have you tried returning your shifter to a posistion left of the 3/4 line (e.g., bringing the shifter into 1 or 2 before going into reverse....) Why did you have to slam into 5th? What shifter do you have?

RE: Tranny problems, please help
i don't know how you could have effected 5th and reverse runnign the 1/4. Usually you only get to 3rd or 4th gear by the end of the run....
not really sure but if they are both difficult to use, it may be the synchro hub. usually if the fork is bent one will be easier than the other
