Default frame crack at upper trailing arm bracket

I have a 99 GT and I have just been informed that I have a crack in the frame where the upper trailing arm attaches on the drivers side. Has anyone heard of this problem before and has anyone heard of any after market braces for this problem. I'm totally at a loss over this one.

Not on the uppers, its usually on the lowers in the torque boxes. There used to be reinforcments for the fox's called battle boxes, basically torque box reinforcment plates, Im sure theres gotta be something out the for the sn-95's.

I'm really kind of new at this because I did not suspect anything like this would happen to me because the car is not raced and the engine is stock except for a K&N. The car is lowered but no one seems to think the lowering would have an impact on the control arm brackets.

I have been trying to find some reinforcements for the brackets on the web but have struck out so far. I'll try "Battle Boxes" and see what happens.

It also might be a defect from the factory that just slipped by quality control...You might even want to contact them and see what they think. You might just get a bunchof cash towards the purchase of an 06.

A 99 with 82,000 miles, that would be too good to be true, another problem is I leave Friday for work and will be gone two months and I don't want to put going to the dealership on my wife's back after I'm gone. I think I will try to get the damaged repaired. If I would want to change out the car I would prefer to have an 03 or 04 Cobra. My son in law had one and after changing out the pulleys to get more boost, it would really run. No more rice rocket wanting to play unless they are really too dumb to tell the difference between a GT and Cobra.

Ford sent a $1000 (blue book value of the car at the time) check to my friend , he has an '85 GT convertible. They werent braced properly from the factory and the rocker panel would literally crack at the base at the back of the door. At any rate it couldnt hurt to check.
