I am getting BBK LT’s for my 00GT. I have a Bassani X pipe in there right now and was wondering is a shop could cut the Bassani’s and make new flanges to fit the headers?

i cant help but am curious to hear the answer, i wanted to put LM1s on mine, but everything is bassani and SLP said i would have to change everything, I guess the only person who can answer the question is the shop you ask. Try to find a performance muffler shop or a bbk installer and ask, sometimes these guys can do some pretty cool stuff. may cost a bit though.

well I wanted to do all the work my self becaues I am doing a K-member at the same time and a new King Cobra and take it to a shop for the 410's. I could sell the Bassani and get a new mid pipe but man I love the sound of that bassani.

This can be done for sure. The muffler shop will just cut the flanges off your Bassani and after they shorten the pipe they will weld the flanges back on.

cool, think I will get pulled over driving over to a shop with just headers?

How far is the shop?? A couple of miles backroads no but 20 miles some highway lots of main roads the possibility skyrockets but even if you did if you explained it to the cop he would probably understand.

Not to mention if it gets warm and you shut it off you may mess up your valves

it probably wont run very good. and it will be very loud. but i would say dont drive it too far like that

There is a shop about 5 miles from my place but I have to go on a highway for about 3 miles and it runs about 60 mph.

you should be fine. i had shorties so the lt's will probably sound and run better exiting out of them.
