Default Problems Uninstalling Factory H-Pipe

Hey guys... I'm having trouble uninstalling the factory H-Pipe on my 01 Cobra. I can reach the bolts just fine. I'm talking about the bolts that connect to the headers. They are like welded on, i tried using an air wrench, and it didn't budge one bit. I even tried 2 different air wrenchs. I tried both bolts on one side of the H-Pipe.. Has anyone else had this problem? Are there any suggestions as to how I would get them bolts loosened other than trying to heat them up? Thanks!

you tried spraying the bolts down with any type of penetrating oil and letting it sit for a bit? I know they can be a real pain sometimes....

i had the problem with my stock pipe. just use a more powerful impact wrench. but be careful you dont snap the studs in the manifold.

go buy $25 breaker bar from home depot and twist the F*ck out of the manifold nuts.

pb blaster or liquid wrench.. just spray it with either one of these and let it sit for a little while.. then you should be fine.. those bolts are a pain.

+1 on the liquid wrench. That stuff rocks.

Couple of people cautioned on breaking the studs in the manifold. Guys, he said the H pipe at the headers. I don't think he is trying to remove the manifold studs.

uhm... he is trying to remove the nuts, which are screwed onto the manifold studs, which are welded to the manifolds.... which leads to the caution aboot breaking the studs.

you may have to spray it a few times like every 30 minutes untill it loosens up or you can also try heating them up(running the engine hot or torch)
