Take off your gas cap and put it back on and see if that works. After I changed my filter I didn`t have a CEL.

Thats weird that it happened at the same time of the filter install. Take it to autozone and have them check it for you to see what code its throwing. They`ll do it for free.

Well I did what the haneys book said unplug the fuel thing in the trunk and start up the car and let it run until it dies so I did that and I think that is when the light came on.

When I did mine I took out the fuse for the fuel pump and ran it until it died and didn`t have a problem. Pretty much the same thing. Before you do anything else, get the computer scanned to what the code is.

Yeah that will work but the CEL will come back on within a few days if there is a problem. I think you should leave the battery unhooked for about a 1/2 hour.

Well I went to autozone and they hooked that hand held thing up to and it said something about air fuel rich or something. I told him I just put a new fuel filter on and he said thats what is was nothing to worry about and he reset it. No more cel

when i did mine, i had the key in the inginiton turned backwards so i could listen to the raido. i guess that still send a eletric pulse to the fuel pump bc everytime i tried to take it off i was taking a shower in gas. so i finally relised and took the key out. no problemo afterwards,
