Default What's going down with my 96..

Alright guys I haven't been on in awhile so I figured I'd tell you guys what's going down with my car. I'm purchasing a set of NPI heads off of a 98 GT w/ 72k on them. Me and a guy I know are going to full machine them (valves, 7 angle seats, guides, resurfacing, port and polish, etc.) to the fullest. On top of that I'll be getting the Stage 3 Comp Cams Xtreme Energy Cams & Valve Springs made for the 4.6L NPI Heads. Once the heads are fully assembled I'll have the MAC Long Tube Headers waiting and we'll be going to work. I'll slap on the heads and headers and once that is done I'll be taking it to Alternative Auto Performance for a full custom dyno tune.

With that said after everything is complete I should be around the 300 rwhp mark and running comfortably in the mid 13's, maybe better if I get it perfect down the strip. What do you guys think?

Right but if he got a set of pi heads and p&p them they would be better yet. If you already have to buy new heads, and you are planning on p&p them anyways you might was well find a set of pi heads and have the best combo possible. Unless for some reason your trying to prove to people about building a npi car which, meh if that's your thing.

PI heads are not NPI heads with a p&p job.

You will not be able to mate up a PI intake to your NPI heads if you do not have adapter plates. If you do, it will still cost you power.

Also, if the alternative auto is the one I am thinking of, isn't it in NY? There have been several people posting about massive problems with this shop.

ALSO, porting 4.6L heads is quite a job. If the guy has not done it before you need to rethink this. It is very easy to screw up a port job on a 4.6 and end up costing yourself alot of power.

good luck.

+1

Unless you are just getting one hell of a deal on the NPI heads. Hell, PI heads are only like 500-600 bucks for a BRAND NEW factory set.

A used set if they are stock should be very cheap.
