5th Gear Noise

2001 GT 4.6 my 5 speed shifts great and everything but when cruising around like 45ish in 5th it sounds like a rattling/clanking noise or something loose and its only in 5th i have no idea...

45 seems a bit slow in 5th gear with a stock rear end... does it go away at 55/60 mph?

My guess is that he has a short-throw shifter installed. My Tri-Ax did that until I re-adjusted the stops and added gaskets from shiftergaskets.com to quiet it down. It's fine now.
