Like i said if your not made of money to purchase new engines you NEED a wideband 02 sensor. AFM makes a good one. its $449.00

Bah I don't agree with that at all. All ya need is a good tune and a check on a dyno with a wideband.

If you have a good tune the car should not be going lean after your tune/dyno check. And if it does, the likelyhood that you acutally see it to lean on the meter and back out in time isn't good anyway.

Its kinda like my boost gauge and fuel pressure gauge. They are kinda nice, but basically useless for safety (unless the pressure drops off before you start racing that is)

a good tune is always important but youve invested alot of money in your engine 2000GT4.6. youve done alot of work to the engine and there is a better chance something could go terribly wrong. just my $.02. I think a wideband is a good investment. scratch the boost gauge since you dont need it with a supercharger and spend the cash on a good A/F gauge

i think a boost guage is more important if you have any type of supercharger. you wanna know how much psi you are putting into the engine. then you can tell if there is somthing wrong like a leak of some kind if you have a boost gauge. but about the a/f, unless you are tuner and know what to read i dont think its worth the cash. like stated above, if you get a good anough tune the a/f should be on soo you shouldnt need to watch it.

IMO a a/f gauge is non essiential. My boost gauge is too, but it didn't cost me 450 bucks.

I trust my tune and my setup. Something definatly could go wrong and blow her up, but like I said I doubt I could see it happen on the gauge before it goes pop anyway.

$4,883 is for parts only.. My brother lives next door to me so were gonna attempt the install our selves..

I got quoted $6,600 for a Vortech install + intercooler.. Quoted $6,000 for a Procharger install..

I'll still have to get it tuned so I'm guessing another $200 but then it should be done.. Guages and wider rear tires can come next summer.. I've owned the car for less than 1 year and already have $10,000 in mods.. [sm=bangbang.gif]
your gonna regret waiting that long for wide tires.. the car will be a turd on stockers... trust me.. i had trouble beating stock GT's on the stock ones... they just dont hook up at anything under 65mph.... i was able to chirp them from flooring it at 70.

and your not gonna want to use that throttle control cause you will loose boost when you do and it just wont feel the same as flooring it spinning them to death.. haha.

Well I'm running a 35 series tire right now.. When I put it to the floor in 1st @ about 2500 RPM it plants the power w/ very little wheel spin.. I'll have to see when the new power gets added.. Sad part is these tires have less than 1k miles and I forsee having to upgrade my rears.. DOH!

<-------- Sometimes I feel like doing this..

Once my car is warmed up and ready to be thrashed about, I watch my AEM UEGO Wideband A/F meter the first few times and make sure it's okay. I spent a lot of money on my setup and for what tax on the parts alone cost I am more than happy to spend it on hardware. I check the first few times I run it hard and make sure it's where it's supposed to be under WOT.

Just my 2ยข
