Default Gear Change?

I just recently got smart....I converted from a rice burner to an 02 gt. It has 40,00 miles. It already had a CAI. It is an auto and I can be cruising about 35 and floor it and the tires will chirp. This is done with brand new tires. Is this normal for an auto with stock gears or do you think the previous owner had already swapped out the gears?

I am asking this queation because I did not want to go thru the expense of having the speed shop do it and it be done. I have rode in a couple gt's in the past and none of which shifted so hard

umm no, i can chirp second in my stock 6 shooter, might have a shift kit though cause i dont think there is enough line preasure at WOT to chirp second without going D-2-D, im betting they are stock, and get them swapped for some 4.10s

i have an 01 automatic gt and a 96 automatic gt the 96 has a shift kit and it still doesn't do that, neither does the 01 gt, i don't have gears yet so i wouldn't know but i would say something done to it, unless you are talking about when you have it in first and than shift into second b/c it does it than, i don't believe that about a v6 my g/f has a 2003 one and it would do anything but be really slow

yes you can go 1-2-D or D-2-D, the 4R70 has manual valve bodies so it tightens shifts up, i do it on my 6er above 4500 rpms and usually get a decent chirp, if its a newly paved smooth road i get them to spin for aboot 3 feet, no black mark though, dont forget, you have 60 more HP but you also have 1 extra wheel to spin

Not doing anything but cruising about 35 in drive then flooring it and it will chirp the tires. I talked to Martel Bros and they will do the 4.10 gears for about 300. Just did not want to wast their time, my time or my money.
