never done it on a mustang, but you can do it using a jack instead of spring compressor. not recommended however. most autopart stores, advance, pep boys, etc, rent out tools now. your best bet is to get the spring compressor, and then it's pretty easy (easier with air tools).

for the rear springs, its the easiest... dont need a compressor.... just lower the rear control arm and it will de compress... for the front.. you have to fight those buggers out of there after the arm is dropped as low as you can get it... but the newer springs will be shorter so they are much easier to get in.

just saw ur pics, very nice. i have one question i see you have a p-51 intake. i was looking on getting a new intake for my stang, but havnt decided on which one the p-51 or a bullitt intake. since you have a p-51,how do you like on performance. what kind of hp boost did it give you. thanks

I just tackled the springs myself doing the air bag install.. Yes the rears are definately the easiest. The fronts took a little longer. I unbolted the swing arm bolt from the lower control arm, removed the 2 strut bolts, unbolted the tie rod, unbolted the calipers and hung them out of the way, then lowered the jack down slowly and got them out that way. Of course if you have the stcok coils be careful when lowering the jack, they may or may not pop out quick, usualy standing off to the side and pushing down on the front of the A-arm with the end of a broom handle, sledge hammer handle or something like that, will keep you out of harms way.
