aluminum flywheel and clutch for Mach I/GT
Ok, Im still gathering parts for my engine swap. Its gonna be the 03 mach I motor. Im going to replace the clutch and flywheel while im at it. The mach requires an 8 bolt flywheel. I was going to use fidanza. Anyone have feed back on the Hawks or Spec aluminum flywheels?
Im also going to use a spec stage I clutch. My question is will this all bolt right up? Im still using the t-45. So I buy the clutch for the transmission (t-45) and the flywheel for the motor (8 bolt mach I) and these will go together fine?
thanks

RE: aluminum flywheel and clutch for Mach I/GT
The 99GT motor is blown. Im not gonna drop another 2v gt motor in there. The prices ive seen for a built 2v that will compare to a mildly bolted on 4v are about the same. The VT sportsman long block retails for 6895 without shipping. But I think there's so much more potential with the 4v. The frpp mach I direct replacement motor is about 5600 shipped. Its kind of expensive, but its brand new. You never really know what you're getting with a used motor (assuming i picked up an ebay motor).
I know people are gonna scoff at the price and say for the money I could rebuild the 2v with forged internals and add a blower for the same cost and make more power. But thats not a route I want to go right now. Id rather stay n/a and just throw some bolt ons at it. Cause in the end, by the time I can afford to REALLY mod the car out (years down the road), ill just sell it and pick up a used 03 cobra or somethign completely different (can you say VIPER). Not to mention, 500 rwhp sounds like alot of fun, but I think id just get into more trouble wiht it right now.
