Default Intermittent starting problem - suggestions?

Here's a weird one... my 96 GT has what the dealer calls "an intermittemt" starting problem. Most of the time it flashes right up no problem, but every now and then you put in the clutch, turn the key and...nothing. Gauges, dash warning lights and everthing come right on but no starter. If you play with the clutch and keep the key turned, eventually it suddenly fires right up. Dealer has replaced the clutch cancel/safety switch, but the problem is still there. Ford can't seem to figure it out.

Any suggestions? I had to roll it downhill and pop the clutch to get it going this morning. It's becoming a real pain.

check the starter fuse and relay, and also it may be the starter solenoid itself within the starter... relays will cause this problem as will the internal solenoid
