ive noticed an issue with my car. if i start the car up like a minute or a 2 after i shut it off it turns over and then dies. ill turn the key again and it stays on. if i start the car up when its been sitting for a while. 1/2 hour + it starts up fine. but if i shut if off then start it up again in a short period of time it dies right after start up. anyone know why?

Have you taken it in to the shop? When was the last time it had some TLC? Maybe your fuel pump??

just bought it 3 days ago. only 43,000 miles. im just wondering what it could be. im bringing it back to them soon but id like to know what you all think. so they dont give me some bs.

so it sounds like to me that it only stays running when its cold. are you getting a cel? or any heating problems? its not the fuel pump. its not the starter. i have had similar issues, they were intake and tune related though. shot in the dark, but id check for anything suspicious in the engine bay, like a loose vacuum hose. and id make sure you temp gauge is staying within normal readings. wont hurt to clean the iac valve, seeing how this is idle related. kinda need more info though.

no cels. the car is running pretty rich i think. im getting terrible milage. when it shuts off right after starting i think i heard a small backfire. can adding too much fuel cause it shut off?

a bad o2 sensor could cause it to run rich. just start by checking the easy stuff like the mas, plugs, vacuum leaks, etc. the o2 sensor would throw a code for sure though, so its probably not that. running rich would cause slight backfiring. one way to check is if the plugs are all charred up, then youre running rich.
