The 4w70 isn't that bad of a tranny, if you guys care to do some research...

W/ the correct updates, and a well set-up valve body, the AOD-E's can handle a TON of abuse and HP/TQ...

There's a lot of info on this site if you bother to use the "Search," Function...

Also check out these guys. They have a very good reputation. Can build the tranny in varying degrees of stiffness to suit your driving style.

Be sure to check the bottom of the page for all kinds of Ford AOD specifics.

There is a new HD3 kit that turns your auto into a full manual.[sm=drooldude.gif] I have googled but I still can't find any info. It bypasses the computer and makes it a full clutchless stick shift.

if your gunna do up your tranny, go all out! get a stall converter, new valve body, and a ratchet shifter to go with your shift kit.
you can also get a SCT or Diablo tuner and play around with your shift points.

Thank you to everybody who replyed with advice! Now I have a place to start looking to get a kit, and how much they cost. I will probably get a tuner eventually, but I want to hold off on that until the car gets a few more mods (maybe the price on 93 octane gas will go down as well, lol!).

my car shifts very very hard for an auto and i don't think it could get much better. it actually shifts too hard into second and hits the rev limiter and bangs it and this is with it in drive not manually shifting. before it use to take awile to shift gears like if it was slowly processing or something.
