i need quicker acceleration

RE: i need quicker acceleration
and for anyone that might argue that it isn't true, i'll give you this: depending on your dyno curve, you theoretically COULD lose a little top end, because of your power falling off at high rpms. but since gears raise your RPMs at any given speed in a given gear, and since most engines produce more power in higher RPMs, you'll be making more power at that speed, and will be able to overcome wind resistance just a touch better. i'm not saying you'll see a huge difference or anything, my point of this is basically to point out that you won't really lose real-world top speed with a gear change, unless you can top out in your highest gear at red line already. at over 500hp, i still can't top out in 5th gear, so if traction wasn't such an issue, i'd go lower too. i shift at 6300rpm, and according to the gear calculator, at 6300rpm in 5th gear with my 3.73's, i'd be going over 190mph. i wish. wind resistance stops me before i hit that mark.

I don't know if it has been mentioned because I skipped over half of the replies, but this guy has an automatic transmission. Maybe first is slipping. Or his stall converter is too high for the power his motor makes. I do not know cause I have a manual. Just rev it to 5k in neutral and drop it in drive.

Wait though, someone said the Speedo was off by 5mph, which sounds more like you have 3.55's, not 4.10's..
I put 3.73's in mine, and my speedo is off between 6-8mph, dependent on gear choice...
And Texas SpeedCal has a Module that you can install to correct your speedo. Although it'd be most beneficial to just buy a Piggyback Programmer, they aren't absolutely necessary...

In response to you asking how the new TB/plenum turned out. The install took less than an hour even with my very limited mechanic skills and tool supply. My butt dyno tells me that accereration and throttle response has drastically improved over the stock set up. It feels like the new parts allowed the other mods I have done previously to perform in the manor for which they were designed. For $300 and an hour's worth of work, you won't be disapointed with the increased preformance.
