A couple of months ago I decided to buy a big *** truck. My mustang just sits in the garage as I don't want to spend $1,400 dollars / yr to insure it, so I think I've decided to sell it. It's a 2000 GT dark red w/ 47,000 miles. On the inside the car is immaculate, not even a crack on the passenger side seat. It's got all the goodies like leather and the mach stereo. Problem is I took out a mailbox w/ the drivers rear quarter pannel, so there is a dent where the paint is chipping off at the top of the wheel well. Also, the back bumper was hit by some drunk leaving the bar. It's not like the bumper is hanging off...but it's something someone would notice upon inspection of the car.

I must reiterate, that other than the dent in the quarter pannel and the imperfect back bumper the car is in GREAT shape. Not even any curb rash on the rims.

Also, this car is BONE stock. (which is an incentive to many buyers...like myself)

With the damage, I'd say $8500. It might not be that bad, or too expensive to repair, but it's a def. turn off to buyers. I say get it fixed and then sell it and you should get 10.5 for it or in that neighborhood.

Depends... trade in maybe 8000-9500. You may beable to find someone to buy it for 10-11k... but I highly doubt it. I bought mine for 10k 2 years ago.

Edit... just saw about the damage, i'd say 7ish. That damage would cause many people to not even consider it. It's not a rare car so why buy with that you have to put body work into it.?

That's kind of whta I was thinking. Problem is the rear QP's are welded in, so it's kind of a big project & the paint costs more than typical paint. Probably a $2,500 repair.

If it would cost that much for repair, then you will probably only get around 7k for it. Sucks, but that's what happens.

honestly if the car is in great shape other than the minor body damage, get it fixed as cheap as you can and you will probably get more than your money back.

What other way can you fix a dent like that w/o taking the QP off? Isn't there plaster they can put on there?
