ive had the exact same problem, for different reasons. im pretty sure your car does what mine does when it overheats, which is shut off. when youre not moving it is more prone to overheat, and in 85 degree temperature im hoping that was the prob. first, check your coolant level, and make sure there are no leaks. id check the heater core too, very common to have that leak. if your temp gauge is reading fine (no further than halfway over) then dont worry about it. also as stated, id replace the iac valve...its 30$ at your parts store. if the idle is fine though, like its not bouncing around, then dont worry about the iac valve. i hope you just overheated, cause thats an easy fix.

yes, its a good thing too. mine did it about 4 times last summer when my heater core went. id have to pull over and let it cool off for a few minutes, then itd start right up. i had almost no coolant, well i did but it was under my friggin carpet[:@]

in the last year, my car has done this die out thing twice. dude at ford tells me its a weak battery..
i was also on a 1/8 tank of gas. and was turning at the same time, lost all power steering and everything heh.
and yeah its like 110 degrees here in LV
