275's pull more in the rutts?
Hi all.
I'm wanting to change to 275/40x17's on my '04 GT ... but I've heard they will pull in the rutts even more than the stock 245 tires ... is that true? Is it a significant difference?
Thanks!

True..
It is pretty significant..
Offset rack bushings, bump-steer (even though that's not it's true use), and a good alignment should take care of most of that..

I have 275's on the front... they definatly do yank more depending ont he pavement. Really doesnt effect daily driving especially if its decent road. Theres only a few places i notice it when i'm slowing down under 15mph.

I've got some 275/40/17 MT DR's in back only, but i notice more pull than i did with the stock size hard tires in back.
Does that seem logical that larger tires in back would affect the pull while steering? (especially at low speeds or while coming to a stop?)

Yes, and no... It really depends on how you attack the ruts, in terms of angle, and speed... At higher speeds, your suspension takes most of the brunt, since it's already semi-compressed..
When you're moving slowly, or coming to a stop, your suspension is in a different state than when you're driving... When you're stopping, your weight transfers to the front, meaning the rear is lighter, and more prone to follow along...
When you're moving slowly, your suspension doesn't have enough inertia to compress it, so it tracks in the ruts...
I can't wait to put the 315's/275's on.. [8D]
