Default Something i noticed the other day

so we just got a new f150 and the engine is a 5.4L 3v that makes 300 hp, what doesnt make sense to me is that the 2005 stangs have 4.6L 3v and make the same hp. with all that extra displacement wouldnt the 5.4 make more power?. does anyone know why its like this?

the truck engine makes more torque

with the same heads and only a stroke change of the bottom end, you get the same horsepower but more torque... not sure how much, but it's something that does great for trucks that end up haulin a ton of crap

F150's have always been underpowered. That's just the way Ford wants it, they already get crap for gas mileage... increasing the HP won't help that cause any.
