Default Flowmaster Super 40's

Anyone have them on their 2v GT or 4v Cobra/Mach 1?

Mine arrived today. I'm looking for some more volume cruising around town. My Magnaflows SCREAM @ WOT but I don't spend much time with the throttle to the floor.

I picked up some Super 40's to pick up some volume cruising around and have yet to hear them in person. My buddy has the Delta Flows but not the Super 40 series....

I had original 40's on my 02 GT and they were too damn loud... Mass inspection sucks.

Have them in my car and i love them. Deep muscle car sound and it screams at WOT. Off-Road H-Pipe is a must with these it makes them sound sick! They are a notch lower than the origional 40's but offer better performance and believe me they are plenty loud!

I've got generic brand Flowmasters [8D] Any way to tell what they are by looking at them? I didn't see any marking... I have a short exhaust clip/walkaround of the stang on my camera, just need to get it to my PC (need to install some garbage from ATI). With the rest of the exhaust stock, I think they're too quiet when just cruising, but they're almost as loud as my friend's 5.0 with an O/R H and a BBK cat-back... at least when just cruising around. The thing I like most about them is they are deep, and don't sound hollow or tinny. Dispite everything about Flowmaster I'm pretty happy with them. I hear too many stang exhausts that sound hollow.

Mine sounds strangely a lot like the Bassani cat-back (heard, and got to drive an 02 GT with a bassani O/R X and cat-back... like mine except louder, I liked it).

I can't guarantee the quality of the sound but it may give you at least some clue... it's also just a 2v.

I DID have video taken while I was at the track, unfortunately, my editing was horrible and I was too lazy to go fix it... You can get some sound clips here though. My stang is in there, and ForeverFord's stang is in there too (04 GT, SLP LM I catback, rest of the exhaust is stock). Track was REALLY crappy that day. My times were a full second worse compared to last season, no one was doing well.

Do the baffles rattle with the o/r h-pipe?

When I put my O/R H-pipe on my GT it made the baffles rattle really bad inside the original 40's.

I have a catted x-pipe on my Cobra.... I'm going to be pissed if it rattles again.

I have the 40's and an H-pipe. It rattles only until warmed up. Loud as hell and very mean sounding. I get compliments all the time that it sounds good. Best part is rolling next to someone in a parking lot with there window down and giving it some gas. Sometimes, from the looks I get, I think they crap there pants.

My 02 GT with original 40's and O/R H-pipe.

My buddy has the Delta Flows with an o/r X-pipe and it sounds pretty good.

Why do you think it sounds bad?

Everyone always badmouths the Flowmaster+O/R midpipe combo especially the X. I have it and I don't think it sounds bad at all. It might be a bit raspy, but it's freakin loud. what the hell do you expect?

I've heard catted X pipes with flows and I think they sound really good! but since I can't afford a catted pipe I'm going o/r H eventually

you will like the flows, they are great for a low deep rumble that do scream at WOT if you don't have much in front of them.. IE minimal amount of cats, if any high flow are best

that is with them on my 2V with stock midpipe. There is no doubt that they will sound much better with your terminator and the catted X
