Amsoil or royal purple? ive been to both web sites and i am impressed by both. the royal purple web site had some awsome dyno tests on increase in horsepower. and i saw the tests for amsoil compared to every brand except royal purple. sooo its down to these too what hard core info can u guys give me that one is better than the other. thanx alot

amsoil outperforms royal puple in every test...i dont know where i saw it, but they compared all the synthetic oils together...amsoil,valvoline,castrol,redline,royal puple, pennzoil,mobil 1, and a few other small ones...amsoil won like 10 out of 11...believe it or not, pennzoil took the other 1...also, asmoil warrants anything that goes wrong if its the oils fault, parts and labor

ive been surfing the web and have found some info comparing R/P to amsoil and it looks as if amsoil is winning.

i think im going to go with amsoil. should i use a k&n oil filter or amsoil oil filter? and how many quarts does the 04 4.6 take. also is amsoil good for tranny and rear end? and how many quarts does the tranny take. thanks alot for the help this forum has been a big help.

amsoil is the best for everything...dont use a k&n, youse the amsoil filter. is your tranny auto for 5sp

6.0 Quarts for engine---5spd trans is 7.8 pints. lol found it in my owners manual. i couldnt find it before. oh well if anybody else wants to know there u go
