I just found a 99 saleen for an awesome price...but I was just curious if insurance would rape me in the man tunnel comopared to a GT. I'm 24 with 1 ticket on my record...any ideas?

The rates vary in area's, GREATLY. It's pointless to ask what other people pay online.

I can tell you that the insurance company would look up the Vin# and since the car started life as a GT it should be the same price as the GT. I know a lot of people are going to say no way, but I just went through this personally and can tell you from first hand experience. You will pay insurance as if it was a GT. The only problem is that if the car is totaled the insurance will only pay if it was a GT so it goes both ways. If you are buying the car through the bank just be smart and buy the GAP insurance. This will pay off the balance of the car no matter how much you owe if the car is totaled.

go to progressive.com and get a free quote online. I did and i went from 139/month to 100/month. thats on a 02GT and i just turned 24. It can't hurt to check.

My saleen shows up as a GT in the insurance company computer. I asked them when i was insuring it, But its a saleen, its worth more, will you cover it if something happens. They said they will replace whatever i have on the car when the adjuster comes out if something happens. But i still get *** raped on insurance even with it showing up as a GT. I hate insurance companies.
