Default T-56 ?

Will a T-56 bolt right up to my 2000 GT. I am going to have to get something done soon as I do not have 4th gear. Just been driving around it but I am getting kind of annoyed. Thinking maybe get a reconditioned T-56 instead of getting mine rebuilt.

T-56= very expensive trans. I think the trans alone is something in the neighborhood of $2500. Then youll need a bellhousing and shifter as well. Other than that it should bolt up directly.

No, it wont. Theres a kit somewhere for it. I know one thing you need is a shorter drive shaft. Its a fairly expensive swap.

Ok I was just checking cause a rebuild is going to be expensive as it is. I can take the trans out and put it in but the internals are alien technology to me so I am going to have it done for me. I know labor is expensive that is why I plan on dropping it myself.

It would not be a brand new trans it would be rebuilt.

Someone on another post had mentioned a company called G-force that supposedly can make a T-5 handle something like 500 horse. That might be worth lookin into in your case.
