in 2001 Ford went from a 75mm Mass air meter to an 80mm so there really isnt a need to go any larger.
'03 and '04 GT's have a 85mm MAM's

Cobras have a 95mm MAM.

there is no need to upgrade the maf, unless you going with bigger fuel injectors or you are pegging it out. it takes alot of hp to peg a stock maf. if i remember correctly, its about 450 to 500rwhp to peg out a stock maf. it would be a waste of money. i would have to say that it you go with a t/b and a plenum, you might as well get a CAI to complete the setup. accufab seems to be the champ in hp gains of the plenum t/b war. do some research on anything you are going to do to your car and don't just listen to one person. just remember that EVERY CAR IS DIFFERENT AND WILL REACT DIFFERENTLY WITH ANY MOD. good luck with modding your car...

Man Im just gonna give up. A bigger throttle body is the biggest waste on a non-supercharged mustang, go ahead and spend $$ on the TB, and enjoy the extra .000000005 hp it will give you.

plenum+T/B+CAI=more hp. the combonation of the three will benifit you more than if you just had one or two of the above.

your contradicting yourself...a bigger TB is no good, but a bigger MAF is beneficial?

let me mix this up a lil bit. i have magnaflows cat back and steeda underdrives. i know that gears are going to give me the best ET out of most mods. but i wanna work on bolt ons first. what area should i work on first? should i work on the engine first or should i get an x pipe to go with my cat back cause partshopper has a kick a** deal on magna x pipe. or will an x pipe hinder my power cause the engine is stock and im afraid that a no cat x pipe is gonna lessen the power. will this happen? ive just heard that if u keep opening the exhast up with out putting some horse power on that it reduces horses or really has no effect? maybe u guys can clear that up. i just dont wanna throw money around at the wrong stuff. ive seen alot of u guys have these mods and just wanna do it right.[&o] sorry for all these questions just need your guys opinions. thanks alot

full exhuast ie longtube headers, midpipe, catback- intake ie CAI, 75mm t/t, upper plenum... then work on the motor ie cams, ported heads, any power adder. the reason i would suggest doing the intake and exhuast first is, any motor work requires more air in and more of a straight open path out.... thats just my 2 cents....take it for what its worth....

Ok, I'm confused, so the dyno test by independant shops that C&L uses is bull****? Mass air flow / TB & plenum change..all useless unless you have boost???

he doesnt need an aftermarket maf unless he is blown...hell, alot of FI guys keep their stock maf until they peg it out
Ever looked inside a stock mass air meter? And its not even the size of the meter so much as it is the restriction. A stock mass air meter is pegged out the minute its put on the car. I can tell you with great certainty that a mass air meter change on even a stock 4.6 would net 5 - 10 hp, more if its modded any. Your FI guys arent very thrifty if their putting on a throttle body before they do the maf. You dont have to take my word for it, do some research yourself.
thats funny...i dynoed 460rwhp with 8spi from an s trim and stock maf. but what do i know?

Dude, you do know but why in the hell would you tell this new guy this.

He has a '04 GT...you HAD a Cobra...TWO TOTALLY DIFFERENT ANIMALS.
