hot air from vents

RE: hot air from vents
The air for the vents comes in from the grille between the hood and the windshield. It should be outside air temp (or close to). Some one was telling me that Ford suts off the heater (hot water flow) after it passes the heater core vs. before it gets there. So, the heater core gets warm therefore warming up the oustide air. I have not yet had the time to validate that. If it is so, I think it is an engineering snafu. I'm contemplating shunting the heater core to see if it makes a difference.

Try it with the A/C on and if its still warm/hot then its the blend door in the core box under the dash. With the A/C off the air should be about the same as the outside air as it is pulled in through the cowl openings. Turning the **** all the way to the cold side ( blue ) closes the door so no heat should get through, good luck.

With the A/C on the air is cold - Good. But having the A/C on robs power from the engine and burns more fuel.
When put on Vent (no A/C) and the button all the way to blue, the air is always several degrees warmer than outside air - say it's 72 outside (nice) its 82 at the vents (not nice).
All gaskets and vent doors in working order.
