Personally, I do not think rims and a brake kit and a few other things are worth giving up 100,000 miles. The 96's engine is PROBABLY in better condition. It would suck to get the high mileage motor, suspension, electrical system, etc. and always have to replace things every other week, it adds up...been there...done that.

not everybody has enough money to get a 99, everytime people ask a question about non pi mustangs everybody thinks they are junk and just not waste your money on them, well cobras are better than pi 4.6 so should you guys just not waste your money on the gt's, 96 sounds like it's better b/c of the miles, i wouldn't buy a car withover 150,000 miles on, keep looking around you should be able to find a low mileage 5 speed for about 5k-6k, and if you have enough money 8k would probably buy you a 99 with 75k-100k miles on it with the pi engine which adds 45 hp but 96-98 are nice too

by the 96 with the money it would cost for the wheels, tires, brake kit. you could buy a pi motor for it if she blew up.

i would keep looking around. you can find better deals. i bought my 98 triple black vert with 115 on the clock for 5500. the deals are out there, you just have to find them. don't rush into buying a car that you're not 100% happy with.

as for the 180xxx miles, think of it this way. you're going to take a loan out for let's say 4 years. so in four years how many miles are you going to put on that car? if it's you're daily driver, you'll probably put on a good bit. you'll never be able to sell that car for enough to pay off you're loan and there's a good chance it will die on you in 4 years. i don't think that car is worth that much money at all.
