It has a tendancy to flip. If you manage to catch a nice gust of air underneath the car I wouldn't want to be riding with you.

I beileve it was MM&FF that stated this right about the time the cobra came out. They were told this from the ford test drivers on the track. At the time they were only allowed to ride in the car (not drive) and were told this was the reason a speed limiter was included.

Well the speed limiter can be removed and I have seen them do it. I just couldnt imagine one fliping.

either that or its just you... Not to be rude but when you said you are REQUIRED to lift the engine to get long tube headers in that was absolutly WRONG! But no hard feelings.

There is absolultly, positivly, NO WAY you can install LT headers without lifting the engine. It is a simple matter of clearance for getting the headers inbetween the sidewall and the engine.

The only possilbe way you could get this done is by getting a set of headers where the tubes arnt connected.

I have done this. With the car 6ft in the air, standing under it, we tried for about 10 minutes to even get them lined up. There simply isnt enough clearance no matter what angle you use.

Do a simple yahoo search on 03 cobra speed limiter reasons, or 03 cobra 160 MPH plus. The general consensus is that if you wish to exceed much more than 155 a cobra R front and rear spoiler kit is the only safe way to go.

Do i really need to get out the BBK LT instruction sheet and scan it in for you? Its fairly plain to see on anyone that has done this job. Its not an issue of being unable to slide it past the k member, you just cant get them inbetween the sidewall and the engine.

I guess here is the difference between having someone do the work for you, and acutally doing it yourself. The only time my car has been touched by another mechanic was the gear installation.

Yeap, I take it to a racing shop because it will take them all of the four hours to install my whole exhaust, headers and all, to the probably all day or even two day job it took you to loosen the motor mounts and everything else just to get them in! Sorry bud... look at the other thread and you will see im right.

Acutally, we replaced the transmission and clutch, and did the headers/x pipe job all at once. It took us about 3 hours to remove everything the first day (including a HORRIFYING 30 minute job to lift the car in the air, forklifts are SCARY). On the install it took a bit longer, but we had to screw with the transmission as well. Total invested time was under 8 hours.

As I said, there is a difference between doing it yourself and paying someone for it.
