The way I see it, doing it myself saves me $$ to spend on more mods. While I live comfortably, I do try to save money - and make money - any chance I get, as long as its worth the trouble. Ok, I admit it, I don't change my own oil. I take it to a lube shop. Im just too lazy to jack my cars up to get under them (my ramps dont work for lowered cars) to save 10 bucks.

Theirs nothing wrong with doing it yourself, nor is there for taking it to someone who is better equipped or could do a better job than yourself. And of course theirs more than one way to solve a problem, and leaving the K-member in and removing the motor mounts and jacking up the engine may very well work - Im not sure as I didn't go that route, but it doesnt really matter. All I know is that I saved enough money installing the headers myself to pay for the cat-back. But I can tell you, if I feel someone else could do a better job than me (and that I couldnt do it well myself) then I would certainly take it to that person. BUt Im the type of person to crack open a book and learn how to do it if I can't.

me too i have no clue sometimes when im working on the car but if you read enough and use common sence than things usually work out. and it feals realy good to do it yourself. makes you feal like the car is your own peace of work and not you wallets. like when it comes to gears im gonna have my shop do it. cause i know i would screw that up. now headers some say you can swing it yourself and some say it impossable. just gonna have to get a book. lol

Yeah, if its something small like he ProM MAM I will do it, and I did do it. I just dont like the idea that my car is half torn apart in the middle of the street and im at a stand still because I haven't the proper tools and/or parts, so that leads to tow trucks and so on and so forth. I like to call it common sense on my part.

(Not implying at all that you guys have no common sense) [sm=smiley20.gif]
