Default Drag Time!!!

Okay, in a week or so, I will be taking my automatic 02' GT to the drag strip. I'm going to Rockingham Dragway, which is 350 feet above sea level. My GT is all stock, only removed the air silencer. What times should I be looking for (quarter mile, eigth mile, 60')?

What altitude were you at? Rockingham, I've heard, is a pretty sticky track, so my 60' shouldn't be too bad.

I'm hoping for mid 14's... since it's summer, maybe higher 14's...

Do people with automatics usually get better times when they manually shift? Any other tips for an auto GT would be great.

I've tried both ways and I did not notice a difference at all. I would just take OD off and let it shift on its own. This time of year i would shoot for a 14.6-14.8 with decent traction.

Yeah, that sounds about right. I heard automatics greatly benefit from shift kits. Where can I find one of these?

I can get a TransGo shift kit on Ebay for $50 shipped. The owner has 100% feedback with tons of sales. I heard these kits can take off around 2 tenths in a quarter mile. Sound like a good deal? Heres the link:

i would work on your launches. a tenth in the 60' is equal to 2 or 3 tenths in the 1/4. i ran a 14.6 at 95 last week with a 2.1 60'. havent learned to launch with the nittos yet.

What about the shift kit in the link he put. Is 50 cheap for one and how hard is it to install one?

I ran 14.6@96 stock. The worst was my 1st run, 14.8@95. You will get better times in cooler, low humidity weather and 300+ above SL isnt bad.
