Thanks for the info. Does anyone else feel like danyz? What is mileage like with them? Is 3,000 stall good for a daily driver or should I consider a lower stall?

Get a 3k+ stall and you wont be disappointed. With tires u can knock .5+ off 1/4 ets. I did as well as many other people.

Do they help your E.T. by improving your launch, or do you get more power too? Is 3,000 too much.... maybe I should go a little less? I figure the lower I go, the less improvement I get?

wont getting a 3k stall make your car more suseptible to rear end, tranny and drivershaft damage with all that quick power

yeah the rear end will go faster because you can launch higher but i mean nothing where it will break anytime soon. and you will free up some horsies since theres less drag in the drivetrain. im getting a 4k stall but i might go with a 3k stall since i found a good deal on one. btw my car is my dd as well.

A 4k RPM Stall?? That's nuts!!! Then again, it suits your car...

Personally, even though it's not requires for my current set up, w/ a shift kit, stall and any decent power, I'd throw on a Driveshaft safety loop... Something about sudden drivetrain shock, and 400+ hp doesn't really make me keen on U-joints shearing, or breaking...

Just because.. I like safety..

yeah theres nothing worse than something breaking at the track or just breaking anywhere. i have talked to a few people who run a 4k stall and say it barely affects their driveablitity. i always make sure to do my research first. i might settle for the 3k stall though. i want 11's asap.

How do you launch the car at the track with a torque converter? How is it different from the street?

hold your foot on the break and rev the engine to wherever you want to launch up to 3,000 rpms.

My stall did not noticably effect my gas milage.
As for breaking your rear don't your GT's come with the 8.8" ?
I can't see that coming apart with a stall unless your running like a 3500+ with like 4.10 gear's.
What I would suggest is to contact one of your sponser's and they can give you great advise on wht stall to get for your car. They will look t your gear ratio, tire size, whether you run street tire's or DR's, type of engine, stock or modded, and then make a recomendation.
I used fuddle as their price was very resonable, and John, the guy you want to talk to, is very knowlageable and seem's to genuinly want what's best for you and your ride.
I also highly recomend a good aftermarket tran's cooler, biggest that you can fit.
That will take care of any concern's of overheating your tranny, the #1 cause of pre-mature tranny failure.
My own .02 is don't go with too small of a stall. I have 2.73 gear's and I was worried about drivabillity, so I went with a 3000 stall, even though everyone at LS-1 tech told me to go bigger.
Now, 9 month's later, I am thinking about yanking that sucker out and re-stalling it to around a 3400 to 3600.
As for the E.T. improvement, most people have claimed a .4 drop to as high as .9 on drag radial's.
