Default Does a full tank affect your time that bad???

I was at the track tonight and didnt take anything out of my car such as the spare or the jack and in fact I had a little stuff in the trunk also. Before I left I wasnt thinking and filled it up with gas. Does a full tank slow you down considerably or does it not really matter? I ran 14.1 without taking any thing out and with a full tank. WHat could I have done with out all that?

60 ft looks a lil slow i was guessin u would run in the high 13s with those mods. it might have been the full tank but the 60 should be around 2.0

On stock tires a 2.0 '60 I dont think can be done. The best I ever ran a 60' with stock tires is a 2.2 flat - the full tank HELPED your 60' time, but will slow your 1/4 time down about a tenth (compared to a 1/4 tank). Probably two tenth if you didn't have traction problems.

Yeah... on that run I gripped pretty well but im still running stock tires. I think next time im going to run an empty tank and see whats the difference. I should be in the 13's on the next run because im gettimg more mods put on!

I have a stock 2003 Gt. I was able to run a 2.0 60 ft time on stock goodyears. This got me a 14.2 with half a tan of gas and I didn't take any weight out of the trunk. Also our 1/8 mph seems Identical. I ran about 77 mph through it. I bet you finished quartermile around 99 mph.

well the truth is that the timing adjuster and quick throw hasent been put on yet. I've bought them and waiting to have them installed. I went ahead and put them in my sig because the weekend I have it down im going from Austin straight to South Padre Isladn for a week and I wont be back... so. Im expecting those two to help out a lot because even with the 14.1 time I still had problems with the second to third shift. I cant wait to get the short throw in!
