I would think a Ford auto would be better than a GM auto or both about the same. Both are a hell of a lot better than a Dodge w/an auto. Dodge's are fine just don't get a auto.

and dodge doesnt have a rebuild kit for the manuals. We had a guy at my work break down in Arkansas and they told him there was no rebuild kit so he had to get a new one. Isnt that nuts?!?!

get a 02. They have a different tranny and the different maf. They also look better IMO than a 99-00. 01's are cool too just make sure you get a late 01 w/the 3650 and maf.

i had a 90 t/a and it had a auto with a shift kit. neck fu#$en breaker awsome when i raced ppl would say holy crap how are u roasting your tires in second like that with an automatic. i would alwase get assy when i hit second even part throttle. it was an awsome car. it was one of those cars that ppl would look at and say i could kick your ***.. and when i raced them they would eat my sh*t lol.

Dan02GT, this is the one time i must disagree with you. i have a vert, and i have done the quarter mile in 14.24. the vert is only heavier by 30 lbs. my stang is bone stock. maybe it's the weather here in cali.

i have the specifications page right from the dealer hand book here are the weights. in the blue corner weighing in at 3317 with a manual transmission is the coupe. and in the red corner weighing in at 3429 with a manual transmission is the vert. 112 lbs diff
