i want more power from the car...but i dont think the heads on this car are pi heads..can anyone tell me how to check and see if they are ford pi heads and intake...and if they are not can i put better heads stock 4 v or what heads r good to go with and what intake...it has 3.73 gears... cold air kit...9mm plug wires off road xpipe...and delta 40 series flows...power programmer...180 thermo...high volume fuel pump...and a new set of plugs...i ran 13.51 in 1/4 mile with a 113 mph et...someone let me know what heads/intake would be a badd *** combo
I am guessing the previous owner quoted you that ET/MPH in the 1/4? Cause there isn't any way your car ran a 13.51 at 113 MPH.

A 113 MPH trap would mean you had major work done and a really really ****ty launch.

ok so changing my factory heads to the ford pi heads and intake will improve it dramtically right....what mods need to be performed to make these things fit...i have heard none then some say a few minors...let me know...and yes 13.51 is pretty fast i heard...its a 5 speed and i used slicks so i could hook....i really and truly dont think i have the pi heads because until i put all these mods on it...the car was a turd...i mean 15.11 stock right from the one owner i stole it from...3500 cash...she won it in a divorce...lol..i won that deal..well ne ways someone let me know
You shouldn't need to swap anything other than the heads and intake manifold. I obviously haven't done it myself but the swap is simple.
NOT AS SIMPLE IT IT SEEMS!!! TOOK A FEW DAYS AS I PULLED THE MOTOR. THAT IS THE BEST WAY TO DO IT AS YOU ARE NOT FIGHTING YOURSELF DOING THE JOB!!!!
STAY AWAY FOR AFTERMARKET CAMS OR BE PREPARED TO DO ENGINE WORK DOWN THE ROAD AS YOU WILL BEND VALVES!!!
You only bend valves when not installing and degreeing in the cams correctly! Comps are notorious for this because they grind in 4 degrees of advance plus the stock cam gears can be off easily 6 degrees causing PTV...for those looking for more of a plug and play cam thats almost fool proof i'd suggest the VT st1's.

well lol...i bought the car stock and the lady was 51 yrs old...i dont think that she raced the car at track...i did all the mods myself and took it to baytown's track in houston....13.51 1/4 mile and 113.031 mph...k sorry but this car was really tight engine wise and yes it seems fast to me too...but track calculator doesnt lie...so try and run ur stang at a different altitude or something bro..im just looking to get more power whether it be the pi swap or aftermarket ...just looking to what is best and easiest on me and pocketbook

I stated that because alot of folks use Comp Cams. I have heard good things about the st1's but still a little leery of installing them. droptop did you install the st2's in a pi or npi head????

www.vtengines.com
they are great guys to deal with! I bought my heads/cams and forged internals from them. If they weren't so busy building race engines i was gonna have them bore out my Cobra block...still might if i dont get everything together soon.
