Good luck finding any parts for a 2000 Cobra R... Seeing only 300 were made. If your going to build a 5.4, which would be awesome. You should get this to strat with... http://www.karkraft.com/new_engines.htm Theres a navigator motor on that page. I doupt your going to find Cobra R heads and intake manifold. You can either stick with the navigator heads or buy the Ford GT heads which actually outflow the Cobra R heads. Then your probably going to have to use the navigator intake manifold or a truck intake manifold.. Your almost never going to find anything remoltly similar to the Cobra R intake manifold... And by the way the 5.4 is basicly the same block as the 4.6 just a taller deck. You can use The 4.6 heads on it, but you would need to use a wider intake maniold because the taller deck spreads the cylinders further apart ot the deck height. But of course it has longer rods and different crank, but it can use the same pistons. And it can bolt up a 4.6 transmission too it too. Good luck.

is there a hood tall enough to fit a regular 5.4 truck intake under it? Everything I have read about the swap to date seems like people have to cut holes in their hoods. I know on the Cobra R there was a custom k-member that dropped the motor mounts down lower to compensate for it.

Plus the Cobra R hood is a different kind of cowl induction. The entire hood is raised up

Maybe a 4 inch cowl, but not sure. You can put your 4.6 intake on the 5.4 and use the stock hood if you buy the Reichard racing adapter plates.

so the 5.4 swap would be as easy as the 4.6 pi swap except for the hood? soo the ecu and all the other somponents are fully compatible?
