Default i got questions

well im 15 and gettin a car soon and i wantto get a 99 gt but dont know much about cars so i got a few questions----#1- i was looking in mm&ff and saw an ad for a pro charger super charger kit. it says that you can get a kit for 900+hp. my question is if you wanted your car to be fast wouldnt you just buy that and be done with? if not what is a good supercharger that gets you nice hp.----#2- if you are planning on getting a lot of hp (around 500-600) what all do you have to replace to withstand the power? would you have to replace the drive shaft, put all forged parts inside the engine, maybe new tranny, maybe stronger rear axel?----#3- what size rims are good? i heard that if you go over 17inch rims you lose power? maybe its a myth but i don't know.----#4- why do they call it *off road* x-pipes and h-pipes?----#5- what are better, shorty headers, long tube headers, or normal length hearders? well thanks for all the help i know ill have more questions if you guys feel like answering them!

that 900 hp supercharger will likely cost more than your car. and if you do get that much power, you will need to replace the entire drivetrain. but a normal super charger which will put you at about 330 hp, which will be more than your gonna know what to do with, will burn most ricers.

there called off road because, well, theyre illegal on road. but that doesnt stop anybody. theyre illegal because of how loud they are and because of the pollution.

all the headers have their own ups and downs. you'll have to figure out what works best for you.

17 inch rims are probably the best because they are lighter than 18's, but the key thing is tire prices. one budget 18 inch tire costs the same as 2 17 inch performance tires.

Long tube headers will give you horsepower and torque at all rpms. You'll have to get a shorter mid-pipe to make room for the long tubes. Meaning, you'll have to get an aftermarket mid-pipe that matches your headers.

To get 900 HP out of only a blower would require something like 50-60 PSI of boost. I don't think there is an impeller out there that will handle that much.

and if you don't know much about cars, read up on the forums here. don't go for crazy *** power anyway man...us kids probably should stay under 300 hp, as we probably don't have the experience to drive like maniacs like these elders on here do.

I agree converted. I've never heard of a 900 hp supercharger anyways! And a supercharger will be plenty of power for you. And from 17 inch rims to 18 inch rims, you won't tell a difference at all in anything. Technically, bigger rims will give you a higher top speed, and smaller rims helps with your rearend gears because they make revolutions quicker than anything bigger than them, thereforemaking acceleration a little bit faster. But you don't have to worry about 1 inch making a difference, and it's not power that's lost anyways.

I just mean we don't even have a real license (unless he has a hardship) meaning we probably don't know half as much as we think we do...i meant no disrespect
