Im pretty sure power shifting is when shifting a gear, and for that split second your in neutral between gears, you rev your engine.
Thats called double clutching.

No, thats not double clutching. Double clutching is what semi's and cars without syncros have to do to shift to the next gear. You push the clutch in, shift to neutral, let the clutch out, push it in again, then let it out in the next gear.

FYI...Power shifting is hard on your trans ALWAYS. Doesn't matter how fast you are, it's hard on it. It won't take a full second off anyway.

dont bother with it kevin just shift normal. u have an awsome machine . you wanna keep it u better take care of it and use your head and a lil comon sence will tell u that powershifting is gonna f*ck something up. u miss a gear and bam your done and just think of your clutch when your reving your engine and u engage the clutch thnk of whats happening beneath u in your sweet lil tranny not worth it kev. shift fast and clean if u dont want to buy a new tranny or a new car. u might get a tenth off powershifting but is that worth the damage . nope

I agree..I have a Mach 1 and I just shift like I normally do...Bring the Tach all the way to 7 grand and push clutch in and slam the next gear...love the chirping of the tires!!!

Shift when the power drops off.

You just have to feel it out. Run first up and hit second a couple of times. Try different RPM's each time. Which ever burns the tires into second harder is the spot to shift at.

yea i just learnt some dif styles of shifting tonight actually. my buddy taught me how to shift without the clutch so it doesn't grind (that's all the way from 1-5!! pretty cool stuff) and powershifting is pretty much when you use the clutch you just slam it in gear but you're hardly letting off the gas, you need to move your foot on and off the clutch fast enough to wear you don't really have to let off of the gas that much. but yea the best thing to do is play with your rpm's and find your spots for each gear. you won't hurt the car so don't worry, no matter what happens, if you feel it jump or you grind don't worry, just throw it in nuetral (spelling?) and try again. just play around dude.

I recommend against power shifting.

I've given 2 friends of mine a ride hom after they overevved missing a gear powershifting.
