Default $800

I got $800 to spend on my next mod(s). With gas prices being so high right now I want to only do mods that wont decrease my gas mileage. Anybody got any ideas on what I should do? I have a 96 GT with the American Thunder catback exhaust and a steeda tri-ax.

Heacers & intake mods would increase performance and gas mileage.

Hey the true flow inlet is VERY nice looking, and I think second behind densecharger in performance hehe you cant go wrong with either one though.

I've decided already on the densecharger. But I need some more mods somebody mentioned throttle body and plenum. What is the best brand and size for these?

yes it is nice looking but yah know what. i cant put the heat sheild on around the filter cause there is no give to the pipe . u might not know what im talking about but there is a plastic heat sheld that bolts right in where the stock one does and now that the pipe is solid to the TB i cant bolt it in. do u have any ideas on how to jerry rig it. or should i just leave the heat sheild off. but then im gonna let in too much hot air from the engine. oh well will see hwta i think of.

TB warz most off all the top name brand seem like the results are right around each other but . there is a new artical in mm&ff about the diff TB and plenums. dyno results of all them i cant remember results but acufab , dragon ,C&L and TFS. TFS actually made the most hp followed by accufab ill get the numbers tomorrow or if anyone else has them than post them. ohh yeah TFS is one of the cheaper ones. i dont know gotta look into them more.

I know of the shield your talking about on them, seen them in pics- but I can't help with fitment probs since Ive never used it. And if you havent already done your mass air meter and full exhaust and gears, dont go with a throttle body or plenum - those should be the last things you do - since the hp per dollar isnt very good (350+ for both tb and plenum = like 7hp on a near stock 4.6).

If I were you, I would go in this order:

Cat-back exhaust
gears
lowering springs
cai
pulleys
mid-pipe
long tubes
mass air meter
tb
plenum

if your drag racing any then I'd put upper and lower control arms on at the same time as springs
thats a similar order that I went with (havent done tb and plenum yet) and its well thought out - except I did long tube headers at the same time with mid-pipe and cat back (only because I didnt have labor to worry about - and for longtubes on a 4.6 thats like $500+ bucks).
