Default RE: Another chip question

The best thing to do is do all the upgrades you want to do (like exhaust, cams, TB, Plenum, crank, blower, etc) and then take it to a good place to perform a Dynotune and that comes with a chip. Then you will know all is right and your car will be running a lot better! Dont jump into chips right away. If you get a new rearend you will need a Speedocal to calibrate everything to the new rearend. You should do that at the same time as the rearend installation.

Default RE: Another chip question

ORIGINAL: DILOstang01

the thing is the chip goes for $260 in all the magazines I have and this guy was gonna sell it for $125 brand new. Its a Jet Performance Chip so its name brand and the guy said it fools the engine into giving more feul flowage.
like jd said, the best thing to do would be to get everything you are going to get installed, then get the chip. it may fool the ecu into giving more fuel and hurt your performance. a chip is only worth the money if you have done internal work or are going to spray it etc... its your money though... do some research on some other chips and look at the results.. the more work you have done to the car the more the chip will increase hp. you must also realize that if you add another mod after you install the chip, you will have to get the chip reburned... its not that cheap either.... hopefully this will help...
