Default Houston Performance?

I need to get a new set of cams. I got re-grinds and after doing some research I found out I should stay away from them. I was told
Houston Performance makes some good cams? Has anyone delt w/ them before? It would be $599 for their 292 S billet cams. Thanks

David K I am still debating doing the 4v swap. Will the newer 4v's that bolt to the 3650 tranny work w/ my T45. It is between that or possibly a custom built stroker through Houston performance. I spoke w/ steve there today and he seemed like he knew his stuff. If I did the stroker I would use their 292 R cam which in his words is BAD @SS. For that it would be 2800 w/ dished pistons and a compression ratio to my spec. I am trying to research some more to see the better route.

are we talking about the houston performance in houston, texas located on tomball parkway? I've talked to one of the guys there (can't remembre his name) about a clutch install. seemed like a pretty cool guy, knew his stuff. the price he quoted me on the clutch install was killer as well! I'm thinking that I will have them install my clutch and take care of my suspension woes.

Hey Man. Do you know about his 292s cams? If so would you say if they are better then a Comp or Vt stage 1? They are $599

stage 1 doesn't me anything to me, sorry.
i think the '292' cams you are talking about are at ADVERTISED duration. please find out the duration at .050 inch before we go any further. if you have PI heads, your cams are 192/184 w/ .535" lift and L/S at 114. they will support UP TO .550 lift with out any modifcations so you should look for a cam somewhere in the 210-220 intake duration at .050' range b/c the 230-245's have more radical lobes, not good for street driven cars....hope this helps
