Stick within your budget. As far as mods go the older mustangs are cheaper to mod. It sounds like you really want that sonic gt. There is nothing wrong with that. You could always get 05+ or terminator later when they get cheaper. that's the beauty of mustangs. There is something for everyone.

I'm not the one that bumped this, but as it has been done, I would like to add my comment. I wouldn't get the '05 for about the same reason I wouldn't get the '11 (as if I could afford it)... I would wait at least a year on a new/major redesign so somebody else can work the bugs out. I've had a few of those types of vehicles in the past, and they have been nothing but problems.

Good luck finding a decent 03-04 Cobra. Ebay is probably your best bet, but then again you might not be able to test drive it. I followed autotrader for several months and finally a red 04 Cobra w/ 30k miles posted. I called to go test drive the car and it was already sold.
