Cracking and popping at WOT usually means very lean condition. Check all the connections on your intake and vacuum lines (as frostbite said). Clean your mass air. Then richen the mix with your tuner. If it sounds like a hammer hitting steel then it is detonating. Back off your timing and clean the cylinders with seafoam before your next oil change. Hope this cures it.

im having the same problem as you and ive had the problem under wot with the stock tune, a superchips 89 tune and the 93 tune. I always use 93 octane in my car even on the stock tune and still get this sound. I have used seafoam in the engine and i have also changed my plugs and wires to no avail. i cleaned my maf sensor with throttle body cleaner and the problem doesnt go away. i have no vacume leaks at all either. I have no idea what this problem could be.
