Word to that.... iron blocks are to heavy. They say if you take everything off an LS1 and weigh just the block, it should weigh in at or a little under 100 lbs. Thats some crazy @$$ shizzle my nizzle!
ls1's have alum blocks. lt's have iron. think thats what you meant?

i gotcha. i dont know how much blocks are supposed to weigh, i figured that was heavy!

An iron 4.6 block weighs 130ish lbs or so, and the aluminum is in the 80ish range - Im pretty sure this is right - if not its real close.

May the anticipation be over! Im back and the answer is...

The shipping weight for the block is 178 lbs. Thats coming from a person at Ford Racing. ( I got them on speed dial ) LOL

Thats almost a 100lb difference in the two! Can you believe that???
