Default Diablo Predator tuning

OK so I finally get to the strip with the Predator program installed and run about the same ET and MPH. So we go to modify parameters to adjust timing, we all know these modified cars run best at 14- as much as 16 degrees advanced with 93 or 94 Octane. The indicator just shows advance and retard with markings and no numbers? I have no idea from this where the timing is set at and where the performance program may have advanced it to. It just shows about 5 or 6 hash marks to advance. Not wanting to go crazy at the strip and advance too far and do some damage at WOT I tried playing with the fuel mix. Again only random markings richer or leaner, went richer, bad choice ran a tenth slower anybody know how to tune with these things? I called Diablo and held and e-mailed their tech support, no response, did I waste $399?

i don't think so... call this number and ask for Brent 757-549-3966(DynoTuned Performance). i am not too familiar with the predator's parameters just yet, so i don't want to say something that i am not sure about. this guy knows Diablo to the T. tell him Jimmy gave you this number and he will answer any question you have....

i personally would not play with that fuel mix unless you are on a dyno with an a/f read out. to risky. i would love to know about the timing also.

Just a word to the wise... if you have a 2002 or better dont advanced beyond 14 degrees or the check engine light will come on. [sm=smiley20.gif]

OK here is the scoop, spoke with Brent at Dyno tuning perfromance in Chesapeke Va, thanks to WHT00GT and hes right this guy knows tuning Mustangs. In the adjust parameters mode on the predator for timing the range is only 20% so you can really only adjust from 8-12 degrees of advance. The line in the middle is prob 10 degree factory setting. In the na 4.6 we should adjust all the way to the right advanced to get 12 degrees. We cannot get the optimal 14 like you can with a steeda TA, that sucks. As far as fuel its hard to determine without an AF measurement on a dyno so he suggested we probably should not mess with that. You can do a live data stream at WOT and get some readings to experiment with but its probably best to get all your mods done and get a dyno tune. Some guys were able to play with the predator on the dyno with fuel air mix and extract 15 additional RWHP. Hope that helps, it helped me, thanks WHT.

That's surprising. I would have thought that the adjustment range was 20 degrees, not 20 percent.

Quick question, can you use the same predator on 3 different cars, my friend just ordered one, and me and my brother were wondering if we could use it on our cars?
